Pokemon GO!]]> Pokemon Go has been storming the world! With everyone from all ages walking around the streets at night, riding their bikes to the local park, and lets face it- people are almost crashing on their way to work all in the name sake of catching them all, it is safe to say that Niantic is probably making out big time on this app. I recently moved across the country and have been facetiming with my folks back home. We talk about current events, world news, presidential candidates, and most recently- Pokemon Go. The conversation with my 68 year old staunch republican father goes as follows “Dad, have you tried Pokemon GO yet?” “No, enough with that- its all over the news! Stupid” “No its not, its awesome! Everyone is playing!!” “Stop, will you?” “But Dad… I gotta…” “Don’t!” “I gotta catch them..” “I’m hanging up” “I gotta catch them all!!!” And the screen goes blank. Rather than video call him back, I open my app and begin walking down the street to the park. I just hit level 5 and finally got to choose my team! Mystic for life!! All of my friends are different teams too, Valor & Instinct. I have begun to wonder if it will be like the original 3 gameboy versions (blue, red & yellow) and if you only have access to certain pokemon. Hmm.. I guess we will have to wait and see….. and trade!]]> Tue, 12 Jul 2016 15:23:54 +0000 <![CDATA[The Imp's Delight]]> Tue, 21 Jun 2016 18:26:27 +0000 <![CDATA[Hold the Door... Damn you Game of Thrones!]]> Game of Thrones has this innate ability to cut off your favorite character at every turn. As we saw in season 1, Ned Stark literally got his head cut off just as you were beginning to LOVE everything about him. For other characters, their peril comes almost seemingly and dare I say, not totally unexpected. Most of them have some kind of moment in the books/show that you’re thinking to yourself….”That was a grave mistake” Case and point- Robb Stark- really?! You’re betrothed to someone else, you need the bridge, dontcha? And who locks you in a reception hall. Pay Attention! And no one could forget the death of Oberyn Martell, Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, Jack gloats too long with his poisoned end stick. Most recently, Osha, damn girl- you just aren’t quick enough. And of course everyone is upset when a direwolf dies, but they are literally just hacking those dogs to pieces this season. It’s a lot to take in. The death that no one expected though, the character beloved from episode 1, a friendly, notably lame character who can only communicate using one word which has become his long-term nick name, Hodor. His death pulled at your heart strings, and perhaps even made you cry. His death, be it the only heroic death in the series (Sorry Syrio Forel), was the only death that actually drew water from my stone. His entire story is revealed just in time for his character to perish. Did Bran cause his death? Did Bran create the paradox of Willis/Hodor? Damn you Bran, why did you have to go and get greedy? This is the tell tale sign that your character is on his way out, or perhaps Hodor paid for your life with his. Whatever comes in the week ahead, I will grieve for Hodor. #HoldTheDoor #HodorForever]]> Tue, 24 May 2016 20:50:13 +0000 <![CDATA[The Evolution of the Mobile Phone Case Market - From Fad to Necessity and Artwork]]> Sat, 21 May 2016 14:00:27 +0000 <![CDATA[Welcome to The Phone Case Place Blog]]> Here it is, our new blog! Well if your here you already know who we are here at The Phone Case Place and now we have this blog for all of our future needs. To start we will be using it to post site updates, highlight new graphic phone case designs, as well as talk about the sweetest custom phone cases we make. Beyond that we will post special offers and keep you updated on all of the latest phone models available for your selection when purchasing any of our designer phone cases.]]> Wed, 20 Apr 2016 19:03:17 +0000 <![CDATA[The Future of the Internet is here! Welcome to HTTP/2.]]> HTTP/2... WTF?! HTTP, the standard protocol all web sites are based on is over 25 years old at this point. While their has been some changes (HTTP 1.1) and added security (HTTPS a.k.a SSL/TLS), all of which have had their own updates, modifications, and enhancements we were limited in how much could be done with the original base for the HTTP standard. Beyond that all of the additional encryption ciphers, security features, scripts and modules added have taken a toll on many websites making it hard to be secure, fast, and streamlined. In comes HTTP 2.0 to save us! What exactly is HTTP/2 ? HTTP/2 is a replacement for how data is transferred on the web. Let me set you at easy by saying HTTP/2 is backwards compatible with HTTP/1.1. It maintains all the basic compatibility from HTTP but eliminates the inefficiencies improving performance for end users. The main features of HTTP/2 include new compression, connection multiplexing, server push, and request prioritization, along with the best security available online providing a safer and faster online experience. The new protocol is less sensitive to bottlenecks usually associated with graphic intense sites with multiple levels encryption by reducing overhead by eliminating the need for multiple connections to a single host. Let's face it, the internet has continued to evolve over the last 20 years but the basic framework has not. The timeline graphic illustrates just a few of the major events in HTTP’s lifetime. There is a huge gap in the evolution of the standard, but during this time frame many key events happened, such as the ability to access the internet from your phone and make a phone call from your computer. By the end of 2015 all major browsers support HTTP2 in their latest versions including Google Chrome v45+, Mozilla Firefox v38, Microsoft Internet Explorer v11 & Edge v12+), & Apple Safari 9+ to name a few of the many HTTP2 compatible clients. Surprisingly, According to W3Techs, as of April 2016, 7.1% of the top 10 million websites supported HTTP/2 Yes, that's right, is one of them! We are proud to be fully HTTP/2 compliant with the best in class security protocols scoring a perfect A+ rating from SSL Labs server security check.]]> Sun, 15 May 2016 19:10:00 +0000 <![CDATA[Why Tinkerbell is the greatest]]> I am a lost boy… from neverland. I am so happy that Ruth B captured everything I love about J.M Barrie’s beloved story, Peter Pan. As a kid (and probably even now) this was my favorite Disney movie. While most of my other friends loved Ariel, Cinderella and Belle, I always loved Peter Pan. I was even jealous of Wendy Angela Darling, and so I decided that even though Tinkerbell went against the normal Disney happy go lucky grain, and tried to kill Wendy, she and I would forever be best friends. Since then, Disney has somehow managed to change the perceptual image that Tinkerbel has going on, coming across as a cute little happy fairy. I remember the truth. She is a normal girl stuck in the friend zone, with her beloved Peter never really appreciating her until its almost too late. This story line was more pronounced in the 1991 film HOOK, which, lets face it, is the best Christmas movie of all time. It takes place during Christmas time, thus making is a Christmas movie. Don’t fight me on this. I watch it every year. “I drank poison for you Peter” Julia Roberts says, and all of a sudden you get the feels. What its like to be forgotten about, even after you give someone your all. But then your heart strings are pulled for all grown up Peter and his stolen children. Where can you place your loyalty in this movie? All in all though, Wendy doesn’t end up with Peter, and this makes me happy in a jealous girl fairy type of way. In that sense, Tink wins. I love the Tinkerbell waits quote design because it reminds you that somewhere out there in Neverland, Tinkerbell is waiting to be reunited with her best friend, and her heart breaking love.]]> Sun, 15 May 2016 18:37:24 +0000
